Three Things Thursday

ONE
In May I finished my grad school program and finally got my masters in Reading, but in order to get my reading specialist license, I had to take a couple certification tests last month.  UGH.

#2 Pencils, Freshly Sharpened!
Well, guess what?  I found out the other day that I PASSED!  Aced both tests--woohoo!  I literally have *zero* interest in being a reading specialist, but my coworkers urged me to take the tests now in case I ever change my mind.  While it was a grueling day of number 2 pencils and multiple choice, I'm glad I did it.  Yay!
Hooray!

TWO
My seven-miler last night was a killer.  (Side note: I cannot believe that 7-milers are now my midweek runs.  When did this happen??? Toto, I don't think we're in half-marathon taining anymore...)  You know those runs where your legs just feel beat up from the first step?  Yeah, that was yesterday.  Not sure why since my legs felt great post-race last weekend and decent on Tuesday's run.  Oh well!  Anyways, after pounding out seven miles in the evening, I found myself sitting down to a very interesting runner's dinner...(I use the term dinner loosely...)

Yes, I try to refuel with good protein and hearty, balanced meals most of the time, but then there are the nights when you are so beaten up by the pavement and deprived of salt that you just need a bowl of potato chips, a bowl of watermelon, and a big glass of ((fresh and homemade!)) tart cherry juice.  (At least I got one good runner nutrition staple in there!)  Don't worry, I went back for a PBJ later...and maybe some ice cream...

THREE
While we definitely finished at the VERY end of the pack, I think Michelle and I should win some sort of extra medal or trophy for our unbelievable race pic skills.  I mean, look how well we masked our hills-induced pain:
Don't mind the "do not copy"...I just had to screen shot that one for your viewing pleasure.  Although I may actually have to splurge and buy a race pic for once, because I am kind of in love with this one!
